Welcome to Tech Toss

Where discarded electronics get a second life, and individuals gain new skills—all through the power of community. Tech Toss rescues retired technology from the heart of Los Angeles’ entertainment industry and brings it to Butte County, transforming high-end Hollywood e-waste into hands-on education.

From E-waste to E-ducation, we upcycle electronics, repurpose materials, and provide affordable access to technology, all while fostering career-building opportunities. Proudly recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we’re on a mission to bridge the digital divide—one refurbished device at a time!

Our Mission

Tech Toss was founded by a Northern California local who built a career in the entertainment industry and is now bringing that expertise back home to make technology more accessible to all. Our mission is to reduce e-waste, upcycle professional-grade technology, and empower communities through education and hands-on training.

What sets us apart is our direct connection to Hollywood’s studio system. With a board of directors composed of seasoned entertainment industry professionals, we have forged partnerships with major film studios—including Disney, Warner Bros., Paramount, and Universal Studios—to rescue high-end retired equipment that would otherwise go to waste. Instead of being discarded, these powerful machines are transported from Los Angeles to Northern California, where they are refurbished and repurposed for educational programs, community initiatives, and workforce training.

Through free and low-cost workshops, we teach everything from computer repair and software fundamentals to advanced media production and digital arts, helping individuals gain valuable skills for today’s job market. Our resale and donation programs further ensure that affordable, high-performance devices reach those who need them most.

By supporting Tech Toss, you’re not just keeping technology out of landfills—you’re investing in opportunity, education, and a future where digital access is available to everyone.
